A single stage hybrid heat pump has been commissioned at Borregaard’s main site in Sarpsborg. The hybrid heat pump recovers high temperature waste heat and delivers 2MW used to preheat feedwater to the plant’s steam boiler. The project is part of a larger energy efficiency project, and with help from ENOVA, Borregaard is aiming at reducing their energy consumption by 60GWh per year.
